Ingredients
- 5 tablespoons of oregano, preferably fresh (50 g)
- 5 tablespoons thyme, preferably fresh (50 g)
- 8 tablespoons of honey (200 g)
- Two and a half glasses of water (450 ml)
Elaboration
To make this syrup we will follow the following steps:
- We will heat the water together with the oregano and thyme over a low heat.
- When it comes to a boil, let it boil for 15 minutes and strain the decoction.
- We will return to cook the already strained liquid together with the honey, over a low heat for 20 minutes.
- We will turn off the fire and let it cool down.
How is it taken?
The way to take this expectorant syrup will depend on our state of health :
- As a preventive: one tablespoon every morning on an empty stomach.
- At the first symptoms of mucus: a tablespoon half an hour before meals.
- If we suffer from coughing attacks at night due to mucus: a tablespoon every night before going to bed.
