Find Out What Time You Should Take A Shower And Why

Although we will have to take into account the rest of our customs and daily routines, the decision to take a shower in the morning or at night will depend on the effects that we want to achieve

The daily shower is a good habit, especially if we live in a particularly hot and humid area, do sports daily or do physical work.

Apart from personal hygiene, there are other reasons why we take a shower to relax or simply refresh ourselves.

Water and bath gels damage our skin and scalp, drying them out and preventing the regeneration of the skin’s protective barrier.

Points of view regarding the shower

the best time for the shower

As it is a practice carried out by the vast majority of the world’s population, there are different points of view regarding the frequency and time of day.

One of the heaviest is to shower in the morning, before starting the routine, and at night, just after finishing the day before falling asleep.

To feed the controversy against the subject in question, other types of arguments arise, taking into account that it is something totally personal and that it depends on each individual.

1. For personal hygiene

This argument is perhaps the most used by people to make use of a good shower. At the same time, it is  the most logical, since the bathroom is synonymous with cleanliness  or, at least, that is what they suggest.

2. For pleasure

Although it reads something crazy to many, a large number of people try to shower in order to please their body ; in this practice the theme of relaxation is housed, which is usually quite necessary for the muscles.

The skin is not taken into account

skin problems

However, there is a fundamental element that few or none take into account: the skin. This is one of the most relevant factors when showering.

The skin is protected by the hydrolipidic barrier. This can be greatly affected by excessive showers per day or by products used for the bath such as soaps and gels.

The medical community recommends taking a shower every day, to avoid that excess of this practice endangers the protective layer of the skin. Since, over time, it can lead to problems such as dermatitis or allergies.

So what time is it appropriate to take a shower?

While noting the different opinions on the matter, it should be suggested that there are valid arguments for showering both in the morning and at night.

What water temperature is best for the shower?

After presenting the arguments to establish what time is the most appropriate to take the shower, there is another issue to be resolved: it is the temperature of the water that should be used in the shower.

It is not advisable to go to extremes, neither cold nor very hot, the most suitable temperature is 38 degrees. However, excessively hot water should be avoided as it removes natural oil from the skin, leaving it dry and vulnerable.
